Robert Anthony De Niro, Jr., born August 17, 1943 in New York City, is an accomplished actor, director and producer. Both of his parents were artists and De Niro was raised by his mother after she divorced his father (Robert De Niro, Sr.) when De Niro, Jr. was just three years old. De Niro dropped out of school at the age of 16 and studied acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory and the American Workshop.
