Notorious BIG was born Christopher Wallace on May 21, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to his stage name of Notorious BIG, he was also nicknamed Biggie Smalls. Wallace became a close friend and associate of Sean Combs, and Combs is credited with helping Wallace break into the rap scene professionally. Notorious BIG fathered two children, a daughter named T’Yanna with a longtime girlfriend when he was very young, and later a son with his wife, Faith Evans, who is named Christopher Wallace Junior. Tragically, Notorious BIG was murdered on March 9, 1997 at the age of only 24. His death remains unsolved.
