Lydia Stirling McLaughlin is granddaughter to successful businessman Geoffrey William Stirling, founder of Canada’s media giant Stirling Communications International which owns Canada’s first 24-hour TV station, CHOZ-FM and several Canadian magazines. Lydia was born in Canada on March 10, 1981, but moved to La Jolla, Calif. at a young age. She attended La Jolla high school and went on to graduate from the University of San Diego. She is married to web designer and art gallery owner Doug McLaughlin, and he and Lydia have two children together, 4-year-old Stirling and 2-year-old Maverick. In the little free time she has, she enjoys being with her family, keeping her faith alive by regularly attending the church where she first met Doug, and doing her best to give back to the community. She donates an estimated 50% of her yearly earnings to her favorite charities, one being iSanctuary, an organization that helps victims of human trafficking. The McLaughlins currently reside in Dana Point, Calif., though much of Doug and Lydia’s business operates out of Laguna Beach.
