Bill Rancic grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University Chicago in with a degree in criminal justice. His initial plan was go to law school, but the plan was put on hold when he opened an online cigar business instead. Rancic appeared on the premier season of Donald Trump’s NBC television series The Apprentice in 2004 and went on to beat fifteen contestants to win a position as Trump’s apprentice. This resulted in management and oversight of the construction of Trump Tower Chicago. He extended his initial one-year contract and worked for Donald Trump until 2007.
